Car Free with a Vasectomy - Brian Blogs

Normally my wife does all the posting on this blog but I felt that this post was best written by me. With the birth of my daughter in August, our family has grown to five. My wife and I decided to not have anymore children. So... I got the snip. The surgery itself was not a big deal. It turns out that the last day we had our car before we sold it was the day I got my surgery and the last trip we took in it was to bring me home from the surgery center. When we got home the car was officially handed over to the new owner. Before I got the surgery I asked the doctor how long would it be before I got back on the bike. He told me two weeks maybe more. Knowing I was going to be without a car I was wondering how this was going to work. Well it did. A day and a half after the surgery I was back on the bike. I didn't go crazy and ride fifty miles but my life couldn't stop because of some silly surgery. Ouch! I took it easy and have been on the bike everyday, a little more each day, running simple errands and going on rides with my kids. So to all you guys out there thinking about getting neutered and being avid cyclists. It's not a thing. OUCH!!!! I wish my bakfiets had suspension...

  1. I forgot to say that I only iced the boys for about two hours and took 1 Tylenol and I have been good ever since. The nine beers I had the night of the surgery may have helped also.
