Our Time In Colrain

2:58 PM

For the New Year we traveled up to Colrain, MA to stay and visit with friends. They just moved into their new home. The house itself was built over 200 years ago, and just being in it makes you feel like you are in a different era. It is located on 80 acres up in the Berkshires and is absolutely gorgeous. Our time there was peaceful and quiet. The snow was enjoyable, unlike here in NJ when it snows and it just becomes a big dirty slush mess. There was no television, internet, or cell service. Instead we watched the fire, played music, and talked with our awesome hosts. They fed us home made everything! Bread was baked in the fire, and chestnuts were roasted in an open fire too. We also drank home brewed beer and root beer. The kids loved the root beer floats. These words and photos cannot even begin to do this trip justice. We were all sad to leave. We are definitely planning to go back up this Summer to help our friends work on the property. We can't wait to see it all in the warmer weather.

Our stay reminded us that life is best shared with amazing people and that it doesn't always have to be so crazy and fast paced to be awesome. We have a lot of thinking and planning to do within the next year and a half. Many options to weigh as to where we really want to set down roots. Being in Western Massachusetts has brought a lot into perspective.

A great big "THANK YOU" to our wonderful friends who hosted us last week.
We can't wait to see you again this Summer.

P.S. Don't miss the video at the bottom of this post either.

Hiking up the mountain with sleeping babe.

Ellie loved rolling around on the floor by the wood stove. Nice and toasty warm.

If you needed to find our friend Katie, just look in the kitchen.
She spoiled us the whole time with her homemade cooking.

These smiles were around the whole time.

Eating snow..the boys made sure to tell us to watch out for the yellow snow where the huskies go LOL.

The best part of this house! The bread that comes out of that fire is amazing!
Enjoying time with Daddy.

Lots of musicians in this house.

Not the top, but as far as you can drive, or walk without snowshoes.

Watch Nat's awesome dance moves during the jam session! Love this kid!
