Maine Part 2

11:32 AM

We drove a lot on this trip. Yeah, we don't like driving this much anymore. Worth the headaches and slight car sickness though. We went to Brooklin Maine where E.B. White lived, to Acadia National Park, and to Stonington, Maine too. We also went to Bar Harbor, but really stay the hell away from there! Tourist trap! Unless you like that sort of thing, then by all means visit it. Just don't try to do a whale tour there because let's just say I should have read the reviews and done more research. Better off going to a smaller town to do a whale tour, or just hop on a ferry somewhere. All in all, we had a great time! The best part was being together talking, playing, exploring, and eating!!!

Fresh picked wild blackberries! Yum!

This fell out of a tree right next to us while we were out on a walk. It was a big thump! Crazy!

Marshmallow roasting time!

Just a little walk down to the water by our cottage :)

The owner of the cottage we stayed in showed us how to collect fresh mussels. I fell in the mud while doing this LOL! I knew I should have waited to take a shower that morning.

Our mussel bounty!

Ice Cream in Stonington, Maine.

Our view while eating ice cream in Stonington.

Tide was coming in while we played on the sandbar in Bar Harbor.

El El Frijoles - best place we have ever eaten with the kids! EVAR!!

  1. Oh my goodness!!! I love these pics as they look so much like our home: the berries, the caterpillar, the beach, the mussels, the trees, the big rocks (!!), the seaweed, the sand, those children oh my such beauties, and that view. I think that view is the only thing we don't have here in NS. Then again, we do in Cape Breton but that's a four hour drive away for us! Looks like you had an amazzzzing day!
